What speed do I need to be practicing at to get the most from Speedy Steno?
Our program is geared to students testing from 100 words per minute to 225 words per minute.

What makes Speedy Steno so great?
We use a variety of material and it’s always fresh. We mark our material in true word count. The vocabulary list that is provided allows you to drill and perfect new outlines before writing the take.

What is D/mark Limited?
D/mark Limited is the student version of our dictation marking software. Instructors across the country are using D/mark to quickly mark their dictation material. Students now have the opportunity to include D/mark Limited with their Speedy Steno Premium dictation subscription for only $5 extra per month!

I'm not an instructor. Why would I need D/mark Limited?
D/mark Limited can be used by students to create their own drills. Simply copy the material to be marked, paste it into D/mark, choose your speed, and your content is marked for reading at the selected speed. You can use a tape or digital recorder to create your own practice material.

What about sustained dictation?
Once in a while the takes will be longer than five minutes. We believe that sustained practice is very valuable.

Why do you only give three five-minute dictations per week?
Actually, your subscription gives you a total of 15 minutes of material in each dictation because it's dictated at three speeds.

Remember, we are furnishing dictation for purposes of extra practice, in addition to your regular course of study, be it online, home study, or a brick and mortar school.

How do I pay for my subscription?
Sign up and you will be directed to pay through PayPal. You may pay with your debit or credit card or checking account. This is a secure process.

How will I know how to download my dictation files?
You will receive an e-mail with detailed instructions when you subscribe. It's really very easy.

Can I cancel my subscription?
Yes, but we'd be sorry to see you go! If you cancel before your monthly subscription period ends, your account will remain active for the remainder of the paid subscription.

Will I be able to change my speed level?
Absolutely! You may log in and request a speed level change at any time.

Why do you only offer five speed levels?
We try to keep things simple and keep costs low here at Speedy Steno. Remember, this is a supplement to your existing program.

Can I save the files on my computer or on a CD to practice later?
Sure! You can build your own dictation library.

Are the files protected against copying?
The files are share protected. You may only download and play them back on the computer that you used to subscribe. They will not work on another person's computer.
